Surging Florida State, Roy Williams’ Potential Showdown With Kansas Highlight Top 10 NCAA Tournament Storylines
10. Chalk it Up: Only once has the Final Four consisted solely of No. 1 seeds. That happened in 2008, when Kansas (the eventual national champion), Memphis, North Carolina and UCLA all advanced to the Final Four. This year, however, it seems like there’s a distinct possibility that such could happen again, as the top seeds have emerged as the clear-cut favorites in each region. In other words, there wasn’t much debate as to who the No. 1 seeds belonged to, which has many picking chalk throughout the tourney.
That would make for an interesting final four — Kentucky, North Carolina, Michigan State and Syracuse are all extremely talented teams — but it would also mean the tournament would be lacking the “it” factor that comes with amazing upsets. Then again, the best upsets are the ones that are totally surprising, and this year could lend itself to plenty of those if the mighty do, in fact, fall. (AP Photo/Michael Conroy)
