Honorable Mention: Roger Maris and Mickey Mantle.
“The M&M Boys” are most famous for their legendary home run duel during the summer of 1961, which ended with Maris breaking Babe Ruth’s 34-year-old single-season record with 61 homers and Mantle finishing with a still-staggering 54 of his own. The two still hold the record for most home runs hit in a season by two teammates with 115. What’s often forgotten is that Maris and Mantle also finished one-two in the home run race the year before — Mantle had 40, Maris 39 — and won titles in both 1961 and 1962.
